In 2003, Vance Barowsky started making Candles as a
simple hobby. He focused on creating quality
candles that were highly scented and long-burning. As time went What started out as a candle making hobby in their family kitchen has become a very busy, fast growing company. Debbie’s hands on experience with selling Candles™ and her ability to share impressive sales techniques have assisted her distributors in achieving great success.
Co-Founders: Vance and Debbie Barowsky After a career in banking for 15 years, Debbie Barowsky decided to dedicate her life to her two children by becoming a stay at home mother. Being a Christian woman, she truly believes she would not be able to build the business at all without the Lord Jesus. Debbie’s business experience, combined with her contagious enthusiasm and Faith have been the foundation of the company’s success. For this reason you will find scripture on the back of each candle tag representing this strong belief system.
Although Spokandle is a huge part of
Vance and Debbie’s life, when they are not working, they enjoy giving to
their church and spending quality time
with their two boys, Zack and Trevor.

on though, he ended up with lots of these wonderful creations. While
trying to decide a good way to keep the hobby going but lessen the
amount of candles on hand, Vance decided he would give them away to friends
and family. Everyone who received these remarkably scented gifts loved
them and began asking for more. That was the turning point for Vance
and his wife Debbie. They decided to make candle making a business and name
it “Spokandle” (a combination of the name of their home town Spokane,
Washington and their love of candle making). It wasn’t long after the
decision to start the business that a friend from church suggested Debbie
have candle parties. This suggestion was brought to fruition and to
this day is a highly successful aspect of the business.
